Operations Controller with Special Education Competence

The Northern Inner City district consists of the central parts of Stockholm, Norrmalm, and Östermalm. Welcome to us

The Northern Inner City preschool department consists of 61 preschools and five open preschools led by seven principals and has a total of approximately 950 employees.

The department is led by a department head who is assisted by a support unit. The unit will in the future consist of two operations controllers, a coordinator, and two case officers. The department support is led by a unit manager and works closely with the department head.

We are now looking for an operations controller with special education competence for the preschool department's support unit.

Your role

In the role of operations controller and special educator, you will work closely with the preschool's management team and serve as support for principals and other special educators. Based on the City of Stockholm's program for child health, you will lead the work and coordinate efforts to ensure health-promoting learning environments and compensatory measures in the administration's preschools.

We are very proud of the department's focus on child health and are looking for someone who can contribute additional expertise and new perspectives to continue developing this work. You will be an important player in establishing a cohesive, systematic, and equitable strategy for working with children's health, learning, and development in the administration's preschools. To succeed in this, you will work closely with the preschool's management team and support and lead principals and special educators in the promoting and preventive work with health-promoting learning environments and compensatory measures.

The role also includes:

  • managing authority contacts, responding to referrals and comments
  • shaping decision-making materials regarding special support
  • supporting and developing a structured and systematic quality work within the preschools

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • Special education training
  • Several years of experience as a special educator in preschool or school
  • Experience leading others in work, e.g., as a manager, coordinator, team leader, or project manager
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Education Act, Local Government Act, and are used to supporting others in such matters
  • Good digital competence
  • Very good ability to express yourself fluently in Swedish in both speech and writing

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience leading projects, qualified investigations, systematic quality work, and operational development at an overarching administrative level or equivalent
  • Experience with budget work

In assessing your application, we will base it on your CV and a number of questions you will answer when applying for the position. There will also be tests as part of the assessment during the selection process.

The recruitment process will then consist of interviews, possibly work samples, and reference checks. The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at considering each person's competence and thus counteracting discrimination.
